GENDER TECHNICAL WORKING GROUP MEETING HELD AT MINISTRY OF WOMEN AFFAIRS.
Gender Technical Working Group (TWG) is a platform coordinated by Ministry of Women Affairs, with members drawn from key and relevant State actors (MDA’s, NGO’s and IP’s), saddled with the responsibility of coordinating the state prevention and response activities on Gender, providing Technical advice and assistance to other members, sharing experiences and information, best practices, lessons learnt, success stories, challenges as well as way forward.
The Committee through advocacy and other medium is also meant to influence policies and laws.
Quarterly meetings are targeted at improving operations, quality, efficiency and providing updates on Gender and GBV cases. The aim is to review, validate and manage GBV data. The Gender Technical Working Group improves the technical capacities of stakeholders. So for these objectives to be achieved there is dire need for review of activities of the past quarter, give feedback to partners on specific data issues and decisions as well as set the input of stakeholders in deciding the next steps.
